Collegiate national champion and world team member Gracie Figueroa brings an impressive resume to the Iowa Women’s Wrestling Club.

A four-time undefeated California state champion, five-time Fargo National Champion, five-time world team member, bronze medalist at the Cadet World Championships, and collegiate national champion and runner-up, Figueroa joined the women’s wrestling staff at King University in Tennessee in 2024.

While coaching at freestyle nationals, Figueroa struck up a conversation with her former sponsor, Titan Mercury, about whether she ever considered returning to competition. She did.

After a three-year hiatus from the mat, Figueroa signed up for the U.S. Open and suffered an unfortunate injury in her second match. But her spark to compete was reignited. In search of support for her Olympic and world team goals, the Selma, California, native found herself training in Iowa City during the summer of 2025 and on the radar of the IWWC. She signed with the club in August.

“I feel really grateful. It’s a wonderful opportunity and is everything I’ve ever dreamed of,” she said.

After a successful knee surgery in late fall 2025, Figueroa is on track to resume competition in spring 2026.
